School Policies

All school policies are available for download on this page.

Please take the time to read them.

Knowing everyone is guided by the same rules and procedures assists our students in feeling connected to their school community. Our various policies have been developed to ensure our school functions effectively.

Policies

The Diocesan Education Council (DEC) assists the Bishop in formulating the Townsville Diocesan Catholic Education vision and identity. The DEC makes and monitors educational policies so that they are consistent with the Diocesan Mission Statement. The policy framework of the Diocesan Education Council provides a unifying focus for all Diocesan schools, and schools formulate additional policies to address operational aspects of school life.

Privacy Policy

We consider all personal, sensitive and health information of parents or caregivers, students and prospective employees to be private and will only use information collected and recorded to fulfil the educational mission of the Catholic Education Office of the Diocese of Townsville.

Code of Conduct for Parents

All system schools in the Townsville Diocese have adopted a Code of Conduct for Parents, and all parents/carers are asked to abide by the rights, responsibilities and ethos outlined in this document.

Code of Conduct for Students

All system schools in the Townsville Diocese have adopted a Code of Conduct for Students, which outlines the standards of behaviour expected through a student’s enrolment. The Code provides examples of behaviours that do not meet these standards and explains how the school will respond to concerns about inappropriate conduct to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all.

Marian Catholic School Positive Behaviour Support Process

The Positive Behaviours for Learning (PB4L) framework is implemented at Marian Catholic School to help create vibrant and positive learning environments in which all students are supported to reach their full potential.

PB4L is an evidenced-based, organisational framework for behaviour support to enhance respectful relationships and engagement of students in their learning. It encompasses a broad range of systemic and individualised strategies and agreed practices for achieving important social and academic outcomes for all students.

This framework is an integral component of the Marian Catholic School Positive Behaviour Support Process, which clearly defines the processes in place for recognising positive (expected) behaviour and the steps for supporting students who demonstrate unacceptable behaviour. It aligns with the Townsville Catholic Education Student Code of Conduct.

All staff at our school work together to consistently, proactively and explicitly teach, affirm and correct agreed behaviour expectations across school-wide, classroom and non-classroom settings, based on our school rules that underpin who we are and what we do at Marian Catholic School. These behaviour expectations at our school are at the core of our PB4L model.

At Marian Catholic School , we value learning by following the Bee Rules:

  • Be RESPECTFUL
  • Be RESPONSIBLE
  • Be SAFE
  • Be CARING
  • Be YOUR BEST
