Marian Catholic School is a community of faith, based upon a belief in God and a Christian way of life. At all times we encourage and support faith development and living the Gospel Values.
The religious education program follows four strands – Sacred Scripture, Beliefs, Church and Christian Life. These strands are assessed and reported on in the same way as other curriculum areas. We work to teach each student to see and understand the wonder and compassion of God. As well as imparting faith knowledge, we have a strong focus on guiding students to live the school motto "To Strive for Love and Peace".
Prayer, liturgy and meditation are part of our school life. Each class is given the opportunity to facilitate a liturgical celebration for the school community throughout the school year. Families are encouraged to be actively involved in these celebrations.
As parents are the prime educators, the school respects their ongoing faith development and welcomes their participation in all areas of religious education.
Personal Development Education
Part of the RE programme is Personal Development Education (P.D.E). Personal Development Education is concerned with helping the individual to become a mature Christian person. Through P.D.E. we aim to provide a secure and positive environment concerned with empowering individuals to gain a mature Christian understanding of their physical, emotional, sexual, social, intellectual, moral and spiritual development through education in human and gospel values.
