Good morning parents and carers,
At Marian Catholic School we have looked at how we can support those families that need to self-isolate (due to the COVID-19 pandemic) which may not have access to a suitable device for their child/ren to continue learning. With this in mind all student Chromebooks have been individually booked out to each child through our library borrowing system.
We have made arrangements that will allow students to loan a Chromebook and charger from the school for the period of their isolation. This will allow students to connect to their home internet or hotspot from a mobile device. Marian's ICT Agreement, signed by each student, extends to this use in these exceptional circumstances. It is worth noting that students have a responsibility to look after these devices and any loss or damage is the responsibility of the student and their family as per Marian's ICT Agreement.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The TCEO firewalls on the chromebooks won't work at home only at school. Please check and adjust your home firewall settings as your child will be using your internet connection.
Please note teachers will only be putting their usual work through Google Classroom, not entire daily lesson plans until schools are advised to shut down. Your child will be able to access links and work only when signed in using their school email account.
